Old Art 2: Slime Nest by J-Greene

The slime nest is located in a cave that is close to a beach. Anyone who enters too deep into the cave will find themselves trapped in the nest. The victims will be absorbed by the slime of the nest and then turned into the eggs that will hatch them out of as monsters.

The nest itself is cold and sticky. It covers a very huge area, most if no all the deepest parts of the cave. The slime walls of the nest are alive. It will start to wrap around any living thing that enters into its domain and try to convert them.

Now on to the questions…

Q1. Are the monsters a species that reproduces by converting other living beings?

A1. No, if that was the case then all the monsters would be the same type. The monster transformations are random. The slime nest is a set up trap to catch and convert people.

Q2. Is it hard to escape the slime?

A2. The slime can adjust how sticky it wants to be. When it wants to capture someone it becomes like tons of super glue surrounding you, so yes. The slime builds up around the person until it’s in an egg or ball shape with just 2/3s of the victims head sticking out of it. The victims head is then slowly covered to make an imprint of the face on the egg.

Q3. How are the victims transformed in the eggs?

A3. After they are encased in the egg strange chemicals in the slime covering them will absorb the victim’s body into the shell and remake them a new one.

Q4: What happens to the victim’s mind?

A4: The victim’s mind is altered in the egg as well by the chemicals. Anyone converted by the nest will have a hive mind to obey the master of the nest. There are 4 different versions more info here Slime Eyes

Q5: Who is the master/king/queen of the nest?

A5: Many people have asked who it was. For Now it is Kalk. I will also leave it open to you so if you do your own story for the set, let the leader be who you choose.

Q6: Can the transformation change the victim’s gender?

A6: No.

Q7: Why do the monsters have a humanoid appearance when they hatch?

A7: Because they were once human, they will keep most or some of their human shape.

Q8: Will the monsters by savage and/or will they have their old memories?

A8. As stated in A4, they will have a hive mind so if the master orders them to attack people they will attack people. If their willpower is strong enough they can break from the hive mind and their old memories will return.

Q9:  Can the monsters be changed back to a normal human form?

A9: Their old body is gone (see Q3). I see it as their chances are very slim since their monster body is now their default body. However if you wish to do your own version it is up to you.

Q10: Can the monsters reproduce?

A10: This was by far the craziest of the questions. Since the monsters are humanoid I don’t see why not. Again it’s up to you if you wish to do your own version of this.

Q11. How long has the slime been there?

A11. At that one cave about 35 years as its by Saki's favorite beach.

Q12. Does it just wander from reality to reality, always near a beach?

A12. It can move to different cave locations more info here Saki the Slime Nest Miko

Q13. Where did the slime originated? Where did it come from?

A13. From the caves of Milda, more info here Saki the Slime Nest Miko

Q14. What happens when the Egg phase fails?

A14. If something interrupts the Egg phase destroying the process it will switch to a new process. Acid fills the egg which turns the victim into a fruit, similar to an orange. Once done the egg will bust open revealing the fruity insides. The strong aroma it gives off attracts the monsters to come eat it.

Q15. What happens to monsters or humanoids caught and egged in the nest?

A15. They hatch out as human versions of themselves or nightmare versions of what they already are. However monsters made by the nest can't be returned to human form this way. If egged again they will be fruited instead.

Q16: What attracts people to the caves.

A16: Rumors of treasure, Rumors of mystery, and so on. Saki spread these rumors for years making the caves a legend to curious travelers.

Q17: What are the purpose of the monsters?

A17: The master of the nest is building a army to take over one of the Earths in one of different dimensions the portals lead to. How that goes I'll leave to you, if you want to write your own story on it.

Q18: Does the slime nest have a weakness?

A18: Well the "slime" of the slime nest has a minor weakness. As it is slime from another dimension for some reason it can't stick to most jean material. For this reason caves near beaches are picked as very few wear jeans there.

I hope this has answered your questions. A few of you have told me that you may write your own story for the slime net set, feel free to go your own way. There is no need to follow my details really. To me this is just a fun set to draw. If I missed any questions just ask them in the comments. Please keep the questions clean and polite.

say what determines what hatches out of the egg or can just about anything hatch from a slime nest egg?
